old gaming computer

yes you read it right! ,i need and old pc to play some of the 90's ms-dos games with cd rom and sound,at a decent speed
no Anonymous dos-box dosent help it gives crappy speed in doom in a pentium d840 3.20ghz  with 2gb in ram and a XFX GeForce 7600 GT, so any help please

Do people seriously still use emulators?

It's less time consuming to pay retail and allow these corporations to decide the controller layout instead.
