yes you read it right! ,i need and old pc to play some of the 90's ms-dos games with cd rom and sound,at a decent speed
no Anonymous dos-box dosent help it gives crappy speed in doom in a pentium d840 3.20ghz  with 2gb in ram and a XFX GeForce 7600 GT, so any help please

i would use a virtual machine. Microsoft Virtual Machine 2k4 is available free from their website, so you could install dos (or even some flavors of linux, like redhat) on it. but for M$ haters, theres many, many virtual machine programs out there.

or you could spend like 20-50 bucks on ebay. your choice.
a golden-age gaming machine would probobly have a 333-500mhz processor, 128mb of ram, and a 8gb hard drive. video card that supports DirectX 5 is a plus, but not 100% required. google Grim Fandangos system requirements and you'll probobly get a good idea of what you need if you x1.5 those specs.
