Please use it in basic terms. I don't know much about technology talk.

thats all top of the line, except for the RAM.
if you have that board, do youself a huge favor and get 2 gigs of corsair xms.
corsair makes RAM thats designed for that specific mobo. asus and corsair had a little launch partnership dealie going on.

Actually, Nvidia 7950GX2 has 1GB RAM, so the graphics card is not bleeding edge.

the Athlon 64 X2 5200+ is faster, so the processor is not bleeding edge, either.
also, a socket AM2 motherboard with 4GB of DDR2-1016 RAM would be better.
Anyone noticed that Panasonic MP3 players that use SD memory skip alot? Mine is skipping a lot lately...and its not like I'm jogging its like when I'm walking. I guess its because its around 6 years old but still
I've got a 4 year old Athlon XP 1800 w/ 256 (now 768) RAM and it's been fine for browsing the web, emailing, programming, listening to music, watching videos and writing documents. On the other hand, for contemporary games it's pretty much completely useless!
Your PC will probably be fine for 4-5 years for most stuff. For games maybe a couple of years?
(Annoyingly tho on mine the new Creative Suite won't install because a few of the apps require SSE3 instructions. A new system may be happening soon.)

THATS DOSENT MATTER!
ANYTHING YOU BUY IS OBSOLETE AT THE TIME IT HITS THE MARKET
NEW TECHS AND MOBOS ARE BEING MADE AT THAT TIME, SO YOU WILL ALWAYS BE A STEP BEHIND UNLESS YOU HAVE YOUR OWN DEVELOPMENT COMPANY GET IT NOW?
Get a Mac....you never have to upgrade. If it gets old just toss it out and get a new one. Oh games...haha don't worry you won't be playing games with a Mac.
