Booting help.

Name: Anonymous 2006-09-21 19:55

Sorry, it's a support thread. Anyway, I have an old laptop, and I want to install an OS on it from scratch. Thing is, I can't get into the BIOS so I can boot from a CD-ROM. I've tried everything (Every F-key, delete, every F-key in combination with ctrl+alt+shift, etc.). It's a Compaq Armada 1592DMT. Windows 98 is currently on it, and I want to install Linux.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Thanks, but I've looked at that and tried everything they've said, so it's easy to conclude that the laptop is screwed.

Is there a way to boot to the CD-ROM via the floppy?

Are you holding the button?  Some mobos don't like that.  Try pressing it a few times...  dunno.
