PSP Downgrade

What's a trust worthy source for a psp downgrader?

Go to PSP hacks and read their forums for links to all of that stuff.  Last time I checked they had: 1.51/2 > 2.0 upgrader,  2.0 > 1.50 downgrader, 2.5/6 downgrader and the new 2.71 downgrader.

.... you do need to read the forums though, as not all PSPs can be downgraded (depends on the motherboard) and the 2.71 downgrader takes a few goes.

Why do you want to downgrade?

He wants to downgrade because once the firmware on a PSP reaches the magical 1.50 version number, the PSP changes from being a pretty handheld game console into god and win, as it is now capable of running all sorts of nice homebrew applications, emulators for GBA, NES, SNES, Atari (and more) with all their games,  and it also lets you run downloaded (*cough* sorry, I meant 'backed up') PSP games from your memory stick (they run much smoother and with faster load times) than from the USB disc too).  You know how you have to spend $100 plus on kit for a Nintendo DS to get it to play ROMS? Well, the PSP does it for free.

....oh and before you ask, no ithe PSP doesn't play DS ROMS as it has one really nice screen, whereas the DS has 2 crappy ones, so it wouldn't work.

Don't change these.
