are Payphones using DTMS signals anymore?

Hi Guys,

I got a little into this in high school but Haven't done shit since in the field and I was just wondering in oldfashioned newb fashion:

Do Payphones still uses DTMS signals for coin recogntion.  The last I tried it was in 2003 and it worked like a charm, don't really feel like making something to test it just to find out it doesn't work and I look like an idiot.

If this is a boarderline thing as the information discussed isn't illegal but it has potentially illegal applications.  I don't want to break the rules and if I am please don't ban me.

Don't remember, but I'll look when I get a chance. Try 2600, as someone always wants to know about this there.

As a general rule, phones that can accept incoming calls do; anything else won't.

I know 2600 doesn't work anymore and hasn't since the 80's at least.

DTMS is completely different as it uses multiple frequency signals which can't be duplicated by a wistle(for obvious reasons)
