Speaker issues

Ok, so, I originally had a pair of Zalman 5.1 headphones that I absolutely loved, but the cable on them got damaged so they're pretty useless.

So a few months ago I bought some 5.1 speakers for my computer, because they were cheap (AU$99) and I wanted to be a show off XD

They're a Logitech X-530 5.1 and do a good job at pushing out some quality sounds.

But now, the thing is there's something really annoying about them. I've been trying to ignore it but now it's just getting on my nerves.

Everytime someone in the house turns off something at the powerpoint, or turns off a light switch from anywhere in the house, I hear a loud crack from my speakers. The thing is, I have the speakers plugged into a surge protector board. Heck, I've even tried 3 different surge protector boards each from two seperate power-points around the house and they all don't fix the problem.

Does anyone have any idea how I can get rid of this annoyance? Or is it something I have to deal with if I want to keep using speakers?

It's probably not an electrical surge; it's probably due to interference from whatever electrical device he's turning on or off.

the interference is caused by a spark when you flip a switch or plug in a cable and the interference has a very large frequency range

ups is the correct solution. If you want cheap, you could try a power strip containing something called a "line noise suppressor" instead.
