Alienware.

Name: Anonymous 2006-08-27 13:42

What do you guys think about alienware? I just recently bought a desktop, and it works perfectly...the only problem I have with them is that they have suck-ass support, and they always have damn delays. ex: I ordered it on July 19th, got it on August 8th; Estimated date was 28th. The reason my order was delayed was because they didn't have my speakers. (which I have yet to receive from them. :|) but other than that, they're great. My 512MB of ram on my alienware runs fasters than my 768MB of ram on my custom made computer. :D

512mb of ram in a high end system? What year is this?

Name: Anonymous 2006-08-27 14:02

High end? If Area-51 3550 is high-end, then sure. And the only reason I got 512mb is because alienware overprices everything. @__@ I got all of the worse parts, so then I could buy better ones later. ;D

I'd say it's about 1889, since we're talking about before IBM opened up the ATX standard so anyone could build IBM compatible PCs.

"alienware"+"got all of the worse parts, so then I could buy better ones later" = m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-monster fail!!!

Build your own. Save money. Get as good or better parts.

lol 1889

>>1
That was a very stupid thing to do.  The only reason to get an Alienware is if you have a shitload of cash, and you want all the best shit without having to bother with putting it all together.  If you are on a budget, you could've built yourself a much better computer for the same cost.

Well, I suppose 1889 qualifies for the descirption I gave, though 1989 was intended.

Name: Anonymous 2006-08-27 19:08

build your own pc alienware overprices everything
dont be stupid please

Name: Anonymous 2006-08-27 19:59

Buying any prebuilt PCs is for retards and niggers.

Name: Anonymous 2006-08-27 20:25

Signed, however I do know a many nigger to own various Computer Parts Stores around town. I suspect them to be fraudulent in nature, of course ;)

Jus kiddin, black people as long as they aren't into that stupid ghetto shit are great people and are equal in status as all other races, however, idiocy irrelavant of race is a status that should that should be avoided at all times and cost.

Well, I looked on newegg, and when I looked for parts that are just as good as the parts that alienware had, and a decent looking case, that ended up being +$1000. But when I got the suck parts, etc, that ended up being hm...$924(that includes shipping. ;D)

You're doing it wrong. Also, "dude, you're gettin' a dell!"

Name: Anonymous 2006-08-30 21:23

>>8, >>9
what part of ""build your own pc"" you dont understand!
you put there what you want, made it your way, and if you know what you are doing, is going to cost less than any alienware machine, whit double the power of any of the overpriced shit they sell for the same price

Name: Anonymous 2006-08-30 21:26

>>10
what it matters is inside the case
i can sell you a machine whit a ""good looking case""
and a ""pretty LCD monitor""

Name: Anonymous 2006-09-02 0:21

ALIENWARE IS DELL.
YOU HAVE FAILED.

Name: Anonymous 2006-09-03 1:18

built it yourself > alienware any day of the week.

m-m-m-monster fail

You can build the best computer known to man for $3000. One step under that for $2000. A computer that will play every game there is and blow away all your friends for $1000. A computer that is better than any $1000 Alienware for $500.

Alienware have nice cases.  Period.  Everything else can be improved on and for much less money.

haha, i think network latency would prevent that from happening.  maybe if the computer knew what the user was going to do a few seconds into the future it would be possible.

Name: Anonymous 2006-09-12 11:11

network latency
what

Name: Anonymous 2006-09-12 13:31

supercomputers have multiple nodes with their own memory.  the nodes need to communicate with each other.  for a game, this would mean a main node would run the game, and distribute rays to trace to all of the other nodes.  i doubt that a bunch of raytracing data and results could be sent back and forth over the links the main node has in 1/60 second or less.

Name: Anonymous 2006-09-12 14:15 (sage)

You know, the time between (and including) things being sent and received over a network.

Name: Anonymous 2006-09-13 8:45

Aren't they connected by something similar to pci bus in speed?
I guess latency could be a problem after all.

you can build it for free too if you steal all the parts.

Name: Anonymous 2006-10-02 15:18

i built my own pc for about....

$130 mobo (asus a8n sli premium)
$110 processor (amd athlon 64 3200+)
$220 ram (2 gigs corsair xms 3200)
$200 vid card (geForce pci-E 6800, BFG OC one)
$200 (another vid card)
$200 sataII hd (250g Western digital)

$1400 total

and the pre set settings based on my system configuration for HL2, DOOM3, FEAR, are all at max, on 1600x1200

build your own computer FFS

Name: Anonymous 2006-10-02 23:37

amd athlon 64 3200+
needs more AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ and nVidia GeForce 7950 GX2.
and a bigger hard drive would be nice (at least 500GB, 10000 RPM of course).

Name: Anonymous 2006-10-03 1:31

i have a 400g internal storage, the 250 g system drive, a 120 maxtor for storage, and a 500g western digital external
