taking apart a light bulb

i remember a while ago seeing a blog article or something about how to dismantle a common light bulb and keep the glass bulb. anyone know what i'm talking about? ican't find the article anymore, and no amount of google'ing does me any good. all i get are dumb lightbulb jokes. can someone help me out? i have a few dead ones lying around and i have something to use them for.

Guide:
1.  remove the metal part
2.  ??????
3.  profit

yeah, but how? there was a site with a specific step my step process of taking it apart and where to hit to release the vaccume  inside and such

I did it once, I don;t have the guide but I can tell you how to do it (from memory so its partially inaccurate).

1)get a screw in lightbulb
2)remove the screw in bit by using plyers or cut it off, you should destroy the thing this way.
3)you now see the bottom of the lightbulb and filament, you should see a bit of the filament sticking out.
This is the tricky part: take plyers and break the filament (you may have to carefully press down to break it). This should leave the glass on the inside of the globe.
4)empty the glass out and presdo, you can smoke tick or weed or anything from this globe.

ya sure you can just twist off the metal thread part without breaking the bulb itself? it almost seems like it's connected to the glass somehow..hmm... well i guess i'll just wear some workers gloves... thanks

sure thing. I did it really high once and didn't hurt myself (thats why the loss of memory on how to do it) so it can't be too hard.

Try cutting through the top of it?? maybe that part is away from the glass and you can get rid of that bit.

again, what do you want to do with the broken lightbulb? are you smoking methamphetamine's or crack?

i donno. just wanted to take it apart. wondering if i can use it to drink out of, but i donno if the adhesive that keeps the metal thread on is toxic or not... i'll think of something. maybe i could put some LED's inside with a resistor or whatever to compensate for the voltage and plug it back in :)
