/tech/ - Is the BenQ FP93V a good LCD monitor ?

Hi there, I'm lookin for a LCD 'round 250 bucks. Use : office aplications, a few games and a lot of images viewing. No complicate graphic aplication or anything of this kind.

Well, I ain't expecting this LCD to stand against something like a Belinea 10 19 20, but anyway, do you guys have had the ability to watch or possess the thing, and then, what do you think of it ?.

Can't comment on that specific monitor, but I can tell you that nothing beats a CRT.

Your office application will ghost, your games will be close to unplayable (unless your FPS is low enough that it doesn't matter), and for image viewing: If you manage to get the monitor in the exactly right angle, and keep your head entirely still, it might be average, unless a pixel dies.

Get a CRT ok.

I just bought a Viewsonic 19" monitor with 550:1 contrast ratio, an 8ms response time and 1280x1024 resolution (not widescreen) for $199. I was switching from a medium-quality CRT, and I have to say that even though my monitor is far from top-of-the-line, it's still pretty damn good. I'm incredibly happy with it. I don't know if I'd spend the extra money for the BenQ you were talking about, but then again, I'm a cheap bastard.
