bandwidth monitor

i'm trying to determine if i need a new router since mine is always randomly disconnecting, fucking linksys.

so i'm plugged in right now without a router and i was wondering if theres any sort of bandwidth monitor or something that i could test for hours, mostly overnight

or if anyone knows any other way i can keep track of how long i've been online and weather or not i've been disconnected or not i'm open to suggestions
