USB 2.0?

I have a DELL Dimension 4500 (don't tell me, it sucks right?)
Anyway... Whenever I insert a USB device that supports USB 2.0 ... windows tells me that this "device could work faster bla bla". So to my question, is this entirely a hardware issue or could I upgrade some drivers etc?

The USB ports on this computer do support USB2.0. So look for updated drivers.
