iriver H10 help

recently i bought a 5GB iriver H10 but lately its been doing some wierd shit, like i'll go to select a song and it will lag, the hard drive clicks and starts making a beeping noise, like counting down. it eventually plays the song but sometimes it will freeze and the only option is to remove the battery and restart it, but sometimes i get an error message along the lines of "system files not found, connect H10 to iriver plus". this sorts the problem out but its shit when im not at home and it fucks up. i'm gonna go back to the store and have it replaced but i wanted to know your thoughts on this, why would this be happening and has anyone had this happen to them before?
