Is a 2GB HD even necessary for a notebook?

Intel Core Duo L2400 (1.66 GHz) Processor
100 GB 7200 RPM HD
etc., etc., etc.

In what kinds of circumstances would notebook users even need
2GB's of memory? Just curious.

Not all that much really except if you plan to run Vista... man what a hog - IE7 starts at 90MB blank paged.

Otherwise, a typical full page layout in Photoshop can easily fill that, some games like Oblivion, etc. Running WOW, 18 web pages open, and word, excel, and winamp... probably would benefit
