Mic not working

your my last resort i need help, my mic doesn't work; i got a headset and the headphone part works but the mic doesn't i might've unplugged some stuff(look at pic)' could it have to do that? or that i got a new video card? or does anyone haveANY idea what could be wrong,

1)pic? what pic?
2)desktops are kinda crappy with mics.
3)check your drivers

is this a new microphone
did you ahve it plugged into the right hole
