PATA == IDE == old
SATA == NEW, COOL N FAST.
well, its theoretically faster, but harddisks aren't even fast enough to fill the old IDE-bus (133MB/s). the main advantage of SATA (today) are the cables.

If you have SATA in your computer you can masturbate over it without feeling gay.

although sata is better than pata/ide it's not fun to install windows on a sata-disc. you have to shit arond with floppys, text-mode-drivers and whatnot.

Welcome to windows world! That retarded Microshit... why not use USB storages or some other modern medium to isntall those text-mode drivers and without any fuss? Most modern pc's are without floppys anyways. This was not a issue back in 2001. Oh god, xp is sooooo old ;)
