Uh, yeha, I just bought a Motorola PEBL 2 days ago, and yesterday I slipped when I was fishing, fell into the water...phone doesnt turn on. I had that stupid equipment protection plan t-mobile offers, but they won't fix it because of the water, even though I was told water was covered when I bought it. But anyway, the phone doesn't turn on, and I'm basically out $100.
I was told by someone who works for t-mobile that hyrdogen peroxide could help, because it eats away corrision caused by water. However she didn't know the specifics and what to DO with the hyrdogen peroxide.
Anyone here know? Do I soak the phone in the peroxide? Help!

Sorry can't help you there. But Motorola is for faggots anyhow. Buy Nokia.

You should have put the phone into a warm dry place ASAP after it was submerged... but it might be too late for the little fellow now.

If you drop a phone in water the thing you DON'T do is try to turn it on. First take the battery out and let it dry thoroughly, then try turning on. If it doesn't work then it's fucked up beyond repair by common means, you gotta see an expert.

Oops. By "let it dry" I didn't mean the only the battery but also the rest of the phone.

How about trying to sell it on ebay since its now broken to me? Put it as a Motorola PEBL for sale! Cheap price, etc....list all the specifications...then at the bottom put "Unit has water damage, does not operate. Seller offers no warranty or refunds on item"

Hehe......microwave...Chances are - fubar. I've never heard about the hydrogen peroxide method - wouldn't that further oxidize the already dirty contacts/connectors?
As a last effort, remove battery if you haven't already. Buy a large bottle of 99% rubbing alcohol (not 70%) and get a tupperware bucket, poor alcohol in and drop in phone completely immersed for half an hour, seal bucket. Then take phone out and let dry for a week. Pop battery back in, hook up charger and give that power button a press.
