Got a seriously annoying problem with a LAN. XP pro MCE on both computers and when they're connected via ethernet both insist that they aren't. EXCEPT when I connect them to my switch, then they both say "limited or no connectivity".

Seriously though, my broadband works on both, tried reinstalling, tried assigning static ip's to both, the repair function says that both can't renew ip's (only when connected to the switch/hub/whatever) googled the problem, no help at all. So I turn to 4chan, please help me I just want to LAN starcraft again!

I have everest on both comp's so if anyone needs more info to help, ask away.
please...oh god this is giving me a headache.

Are you functionally retarded, trolling, or pre-emptively attacking anyone who might try to help you? Your question/comment/problem makes NO sense.

How do I English language grammar?

You need a DHCP server on the network.  You need to either get a router that uses DHCP or set up ICS which has a DHCP function.

Or use static IPs.

Use DHCP, or static IPs. Make sure the subnet matches for each machine. Make sure they are in the same workgroup, some apps care about that.
