hokay. So I have a Geforce 6800gt (256mb) and I'm looking to get a second card and hopefully SLI them. If I got say a 7900gtx 512mb then would I be able to do this? Is there a site that shows which cards would be compatible. Basically I'm wondering if the 2 have to be in the same series (6 series) or if there are any other requirements for SLI other than a bigger psu and better cooling.

It has to be the same card. That means you have to buy another 6800GT from the same vendor.

Yeah they have to be exactly the same, which in a way is alright, since when you eventually buy the second 6800gt it won't cost too much.

What >>2 said. Plus I would recommend just getting one 7600GT or if you have the money, a 7900GT

hmm I thought that they fixed that problem, at least somewhat with driver support. Like I thought you're at least able to use the same card from a different manufacturer (say asus and xfx). Oh well... I guess I'll hold off until directx 10 cards come out. my 6800gt is good enough to run anything with moderate settings. My damn friend is getting 2 7900gtx's and i'm friggin drooling.
