Freeformat bitrates for MP3s

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-16 14:39

I want to get a <$100 MP3 player, like a Creative or Sandisk. But from looking at manuals, most of them only support up to 320kbps MP3s. A large amount of my mp3s are freeformat, with bitrates much higher than 320kbps.

They all work on my PSP, though, and that's a fairly low-end mp3 player. Does anyone know which mp3 players will support high bitrate mp3s? Am I just going to have to re-encode a ton of stuff?

Man, you aren't going to be able to tell the difference between a 160kbps mp3 and something a lot higher on an mp3 player.

I'm assuming you want a player because you aren't fat lethargic tub of shit. In that case, you'd have a hard time telling ever 128 while moving around. I know I do.
