hard drive problem

when i woke up this morning i went to my computer to check how my torrent downloads were doing and discovered that my computer trying to reboot. i powered off then on and the hard drive started making a clicking sound and i got the same screen saying the computer is unable to boot. is my hard drive dead? what could've caused it? and is there anyway to save the data stored on it?

drive dead.  throw away or use as weapon.

no chance for recovery unless you take it to a data recovery center.
