/tech/ - My TV it Dies...

A little while ago, with no real warning My Tv turned itself off, and since I have been unable to turn it back on. Every time I try it makes the click sound like it's turned on but nothing happens, and it keeps clicking. Its a Proscan 36 inches. It's to big to pull out of the corner and check for serial numbers on the back...(I'm a girl ok? A tiny tiny girl >.<) Any ideas what's wrong with it, or how much it might cost to fix. (Just because I have a big TV doesn't mean I can aford to fix it. I got it when a relative died and left it to me)

As I said the TV was inherited from a relitive. I do not know where it was bought or where to go to say "hey fix this", plus if there was a warranty it has most likely expired. The TV is at LEAST 10 years old.

if its a crt (not a flat screen) then you might have a dead flyback transformer because you said the tube isnt powering up
your best bet would be to get it fixed professionally
