Ps2 Mod Chip: R cable

Name: Surhta 2006-02-28 20:31

So being the idiot i am, while cleaning my ps2 I accidentally disloged the 'r' cable from my Magic V mod chip. I quickly realized that this cable is quite important but was wondering if anyone new what it is actually for. I eventually taped it on with electrical tape and theat worked for about an hour or so but now it's back to not working. (black screen when turned on, I dont get any sound, logos or "whirling electrons"). I'm having it properly soldered back on tomorrow but in the mean time was wondering what that cabel was actually for and if that would casue the problem, or if i've royaly screwed up something else.

:) the guy i had do my soldering was pro and fixed it. Regarding the 'r' wire, i found out only that it does timing, but what does that mean exactly? if anyone could tell me, that would be awsome.

Timing is a clock pulse that is used to triggering the states of intragrated circuits.  Without timing, these digital circuits would be completely unable to opperate in a syncronus mode, thus be rendered unopperatable. it's possibly the most important part of a chip, with the exception of Vcc (the voltage supply) and Ground

Don't change these.
