I recently snagged up a torrent of Swap Magic, the program that allows you to play burned games on a ps2. My question is this, can i expect the ps2 to read it if i burn it to a dvd? And if i burn it, should i leave it in .iso format or extract everything?

Wtf no it won't read a burned Swap Magic disc because your Ps2 isn't modded, but if it was modded you would already be able to play burned games so just fucking buy a legit copy of Swap Magic. Why are you all retards?

swap magic doesnt work if you burn it unless you have a modded console. and if you had a modded console you woudn't need swap magic anyway. and thats the truth

Indeed. A genuine Swap Magic will boot just like any PS2 game, demo disc, etc - that's how it works. A burned one won't, because burners can't put in the extra data in inaccessible areas read by the PS2 when booting (whereas pressed discs can and do). The only use for a burnt Swap Magic would be to use its other features that might not be supported by your modchip, like booting from USB (though more up-to-date chips have more features anyway).

As far as I know, SM doesn't need to be used in conjunction with a mod chip of any kind. >>7
Thanks for the info. I guess I assumed since someone bothered to rip it and torrent it, that it was possible to just burn it to a dvd-r. I'll just shell out the dough for genuine SM copies and a flip top case. >>8
Eat shit.
You still need some way of being able to open the PS2 lid and it not reset itself. When you buy swap magic it comes with a little plastic thing you shove near the hinge so it always thinks the lid is down.

hah yeah bitching females
its possible, copy dvds with encryption are read by ps2 so copied games are playable after buring without modchips, swap magic etc, thers a way, there's a file hidden on the disc wich allows the console to search for the enycryption, some known 1s are dummy files, burning a disc with these on it will make the console refuse to boot, pressed discs bla bla .. pressing only adds for tighter encryption to hide the files.
