So I posted the following over at /g/ and was yelled at, and deserved it, so here goes;
I was thinking of a thread posted a few weeks back looking for way to cash in on his laptops warranty, and I am faced with a similar situation. I have one fo the TV's shown here, with a service plan on it. Unlike the dude with the laptop, though, my service plan covers any and all power surges, including lightning strikes (you know, just in case). So I figure surging it is the way to go. I really don't want to spend a lot of money (someone in the previous thread suggested buying and using a taser on the laptop...) trying to fry the poor thing so what's the most creative way I can do this without it looking like I did it on purpose? One of my friends suggested running current into the ideo inputs, but I'm afraid that will look obvious (damage inconsistent with normal use) when the repair guy cracks it open to take a look. So how do I surged TV?
