ipod help

I dont know what ipod my sister has, i wana buy her a case.. its 20gb and has a hold button on the top left. its white, with a non-colour screen. go!

Could be any of them from the late first generation iPod (the 20GB models were introduced in 2002) to the fourth generation. The easy way to tell them apart is by the controls on the face:

1st gen: The familiar wheel control is actually a mechanical scroll wheel - it physically moves - and is surrounded by four buttons on the rim.
2nd gen: Very similar to the 1st gen, but the wheel is now a touch-sensitive pad and doesn't move. The buttons are in the same configuration around the wheel.
3rd gen: The play/menu/back/forward buttons are now four circular buttons above the touch wheel.
4th gen: The buttons are now integrated into the touch wheel itself (instead of being separate entities) and are simply activated by pressing the wheel at that spot (the so-called "click-wheel" which was carried over to the iPod Mini and Nano designs).

As for picking a case, get a hold of her iPod and measure it - though the first to fourth generation iPods were about the same length and width, the depth varied depending upon the generation and the hard disk capacity.

thanks. i actually sneaked a peek at the about file and its a 4th gen 20gig.. so im a go for finding a case.. now i just need to find a shop in London to buy it from, too late for mail order. I wanted to get her a vaja, they are awesome
