PSP or 30Gig iPod Video?

Name: Anonymous 2005-11-02 20:16

Both are about 300 bucks.  Both do most of the same things but iPod has 30Gigs and the PSP plays games.  I need your help.

Neither.  Send the $300 to me.  Lemme get a PO Box first, though.

Oh You!  So clever.

I'd recommend the PSP since you can always buy some more memory.

I think the PSP will do slightly more damage when thrown at someone.

get the PSP, but expect to spend more on the memory
psp is only worth it if the firmware that comes with it is 2.00 or lower, else, don't bother

If you get an iPod, make sure you know how to take care of it, because you have no idea just how many people I see come into my work saying "OH GOD MY IPOD DOESNT WORK I NEED IT TO LISTEN TO WHILE I JOG"

Obviously you shouldn't try moving around a lot with a spinning hard drive

Bah, get the apple care system.  They replaced mine after I knocked that bugger around.  Actually, the fact that I even threw it once in a fit of annoyance didn't actually break it.  I had battery troubles instead.

What the /hell/ where they doing with it?

an ipod shouldn't break under that kind of stress...

Honestly, I'd get an ipod nano, much smaller and uses flash memory; reviews found that it was nearly indestructible. (except for the fact that the case scratches)  Great for carting data to and from school, and if you're a student you can get 20$ off at the apple store.

You don't really need the iPod with video unless you're going to install linux on it.  I'm not usually a linux zealot, but after seeing what they can make the iPod do when they control the OS, I'm sold.    iPod with video plays doom and doom 2, and more games will probably be ported in the future, plus you can play your videos straight after they've been downloaded, no need to convert to apple proprietary formats.  Problem with linux though is shitty power managment, battery life is horrible under it, and you can't turn the damn thing off.

I don't know anything about the PSP, though I'm considering getting one.

BTW, brasso polishes off surface scratches on  the ipod

I work at best buy and see problems all the time. Apple will not replace or service any iPods that come in unless they have what is defined as Normal Wear and Tear. Unfortunately dropping it and sitting on it and having it in your pocket where the LCD screen can get damage and things like that are not covered -- which are the majority of the problems.

with or without applecare?

Get a PSP gigapack and a playgear case.  You're set.  The case protects your PSP and you can load all the movies and music on the 1GB duo pro.  If you have loaders, you won't have to buy any games either.  Download them.  Oh and you can play Japanese games.  Fucking win
