Again Rooney played like a total shit-head, Defoe was ok but we have better players who don't get to play.

So yet another 90 mins where Rooney looks like a spare part at a wedding, wandering around the pitch carrying out no particular role, occupying no particular position and as a result, performing particularly poorly. Its not a question now of who should partner Rooney, it should be who should partner Defoe, who at least scores when he plays and generally looks dangerous up front.
When will England managers start to pick players on form not by name or the club they play for? Darren Bent has been given the odd 45 mins here and there and usually in England teams that swap 8 or 9 first team picks per half and to be fair to the lad, he hasn't set the world on fire.
However, Rooney has played full 90 min games for the last dozen games with a full compliment of top players and has looked twice a poor but still gets picked?
Go figure that out? And the FA wonder why we never do anything at competitions? Darren Bent surely deserves a run in the team over Rooney and on his current form, to be brutally honest, Andy Carroll, Kevin Davies or Bobby Zamora would be more effective.
Rooney isn't suddenly a poor player. He is a fantastic player but his form is rubbish for club and country so why keep picking him over other lads who wait patiently for their chance, which will never come if poor form players STILL get picked anyway?
If Darren doesn't get at least 30 mins in the next game, I'd be tempted, if I were him, to tell Capello to shove his selection next time, as it doesn't seem to matter if he is patient, works hard, scores lots of goals or has the player in front of him play like a plum.
