I'll get to the point. I am an 18 year old who wants to start martial arts. A bit late in the day perhaps, but whatever. I would like an art that is built around grappling, I was thinking of traditional Jiu Jitsu. What does anonymous think?
i've done Chen style Taiji for about 6 years. i would suggest that first to develop the more logical skills/advanced skills first. the firm yet soft muscular conditioning creates very susceptable skills in future grappling.
i would suggest it. besides, standing grappling is far more common than ground work, which is rare in true fighting.
if i ever did grappling i'd rather do kosen judo (that was where brazilian jujustu came from, btw), or maybe something that's ALMOST grappling like Dog style Gongfu. if you want, you could talk to me on aim. just email me.
