Right now, this is how I'd rank the top 8 teams...
1. Finland
2. Russia
3. Slovakia
4. Sweden
5. Canada
6. Czech Rep
7. USA
8. Swiss
I wonder about Finland, they're playing out of their minds (17 goals for, 2 goals against in 4 games), but there's so many good teams that they might get knocked out in the quarterfinals. It's just a matter of who's working the best as a unit and over the past 3 games, I think Finland and Russia have done that better than anyone else. It would also be surprising to see Canada not qualify for a medal game.

It would seem that, in a typically Canadian manner, the men's team is as neurotic as ever. Apparently being organized and efficient in the beginning (against weak opposition), then lacking confidence against Swiss and Finns and screwing up, then getting their shit together to beat the Czechs. But I have faith that this gang of pricey stars can hang on and win Gold or Silver. Gretsky will be vindicated!

From what I saw of that czech game they barely held on. Outshot something like 38-8 in the last 2 periods? Not much to be proud of :/
Even though they'll pull off the gold yet again I really hope Fat Quinn doesn't get the nod next time. I'd much rather one of the Sutters

Up next: Captain Kovalev vs. Captain Koivu

The question is, what the hell happened to Canada's offense? No goals against Switzerland(!), Finland or Russia.
And anyone else feel the tournament system sucks? Slovakia won their division with 5 straight wins, and then they lose one game and they're out of the tournament. The prelims are totally meaningless if your "reward" for winning is having to go against Czechs.

Canada:embarassing, not a team.
Now it's Russia or Finland final but it's a tossup. Both great teams to watch...
Sweden Just beat Finaland 3-2. Bad Luck on the Fins, I really thought it was destiny this time.

:( Sweden was the better team today, so they deserved the win. Still, it was awful to see Teppo Numminen start crying in an interview right after the game

I don't know if I should be happy or not, since I am swedish citizen, but have some of my roots in Finland (actually the swedish-speaking part of Finland). But I'm really glad that it was a tight and even game.
