Eludes me. Why the hell can't I see any of this wonderful SJIS art on my new Mac? It cant be because Macs are made of Aids and Fail can it. I'm using Firefox... by the way.

make sure you have a font made for sjis. windozers have mspgothic, but everyone else has to download a special font. google for 'mona sjis font' and you should find one that works

Will this page automatically load using the Mona font, or do I have to configure it somehow?

the css is configured to look for Mona, that's how i found out i needed it to begin with. after i installed it, it just worked without changing any firefox settings. i'm on linux tho, not mac, so you might have to play with some os settings i don't know about.

I'm on a Mac using firefox and I've never had to download a Japanese font in order to see the SJIS art.

If it isn't showing up already, then this might help.

View-- Character Encodings-- More Encodings-- East Asian-- Japanese (Shift JIS)

 If that doesn't work, then go to System Preferences and mess with the languages your computer can read in. I'm guessing you have Japanese turned off.
