my nutsack

its inf*0=undefined. since it is so, you get the game.

fuck off, 1/0 != infinity

But the answer is that it's undefined.

Name: Anonymous 2010-04-10 2:59

(1/x)*x=1

Name: Anonymous 2010-04-10 19:23

well let's define it then; no sense letting the matter be undone

when x not 0

Name: Anonymous 2010-04-12 18:31

Yes, x can be every number, but 0.

Name: Anonymous 2010-04-16 14:27

just remember that everything fucks up when you divide by 0

Name: Anonymous 2010-04-18 18:54

(1/0)*0 = (UNDEFINED)*0 = UNDEFINED

Name: Anonymous 2010-04-21 23:56

Regardless of what (1/0) is when multiplied by 0 it becomes 0
ANYTHING * 0 = 0

Name: Anonymous 2010-04-22 6:42

(1/x)*x always becomes 1 since its just canceling the division(simplifying).

Name: Anonymous 2010-04-22 7:53

you can only cancel when the variable is nonzero

Name: Anonymous 2010-04-22 15:53

>>12
No. That only applies to numbers.
1/0 is NOT a number.

Name: Anonymous 2010-04-23 21:24

>>12
no, it's a nonsensical statement.
it's like saying "a car are is".
by itself it means nothing.
that's it, it's undefined because by itself it is meaningless.

No, division by zero is simply -forbidden-, not "undefined".
Because you don't know what you get.

The reason is that rearranging 1/0 = whatever to 1 = whatever * 0 can't be fulfilled unless it is taken as an axiom which leads to the principle of explosion (see wikipedia). You implicitly assumed a contradiction making anything provable.

Or in school logic: since 1/0 gives "infinity" we now can't guarantee that * 0 will cancel it out. You would never be done with the prove which would go like 0*infinity = 0*(1+2+3+4+5+6...forever) = 0*1 + 0*2 + 0*3 + ... + zero*forever+zero*forever+1....

Don't change these.
