Earth Hour

earth hour is the most retarded fucking idea I've ever heard of. Do you know how power plants work? No, you fucking don't.

They generate electricity based on estimated demand; if that demand suddenly, precipitously drops off, the power plant isn't just going to just produce less electricity. It's going to ground out the excess to keep from exploding. You're just wasting resources by doing this, and it's infuriatingly stupid.

the power plants dont reduce their output. the point of earth hour is to save resources, so some other source will reduce their output...
if this makes no sense to you, you can always take 2s advice and shit on the street in protest.
