"laziness"

Hello /sci/,
Could you explain to me why people are willing to go out of their way "to be lazy".
Examples:
  Walking an extra 20 feet to the automatic door instead of pushing open the other door.
  Waiting an additional 5 minutes instead of going up a flight of stairs.
I'm sure you've observed others. Is it just a habit people get into? Has there ever been a study into this.

I'm just exemplifying the proof of "laziness". >>58 is so lazy he is unwilling to compromise his position (show of courage) so I can do so with mine and we can meet on an equal field which he already proclaimed he would do so by "making things fair." By what means did I invade that ego-castle of yours in order to fuck up your shit in the first place? It's a means of great vulnerability for you because you don't want to look at it, and even proclaim that you don't know how and because you don't know how it isn't therefore happening.
