"laziness"

Hello /sci/,
Could you explain to me why people are willing to go out of their way "to be lazy".
Examples:
  Walking an extra 20 feet to the automatic door instead of pushing open the other door.
  Waiting an additional 5 minutes instead of going up a flight of stairs.
I'm sure you've observed others. Is it just a habit people get into? Has there ever been a study into this.

Cause then you would be inquiring for further understanding instead of stating a limited-knowledge-opinion. But then again, that is your choice. Besides, I prefer you stating limited-knowledge-opinions because you're just repeating what I tell you to say when you aren't paying attention. Works 99.1% of the time. That means I've almost conquered the entire world population. just another .9% left to go. I'm working on you right now...how'm I doing so far?
