Hello /sci/,
Could you explain to me why people are willing to go out of their way "to be lazy".
Examples:
Walking an extra 20 feet to the automatic door instead of pushing open the other door.
Waiting an additional 5 minutes instead of going up a flight of stairs.
I'm sure you've observed others. Is it just a habit people get into? Has there ever been a study into this.

simple.

people have a mind-set of "convenience". Whatever "appears" more convenient than something else is their path of least resistance.

Remember, the entirety of convenience for consumers "customers" is that they consume as easy and readily as is necessary for them.

The thing that sways them from the closer door is the fact that it doesn't open unless they make a choice.

People don't like making choices that aren't habitual or comfortable. "There's germs out there, ya know!" XD Lol.

And, whatever reason or excuse can justify that decision is what will stand up in any argument of their decision.
