OP here, I solved it ages ago.

Integral of (1 / (sin(x)(5+4cos^2(x)))) dx
= Integral of (sin(x) / ((1-cos^2(x))(5+4cos^2(x)))) dx

Let u = cos(x) -> du/dx = -sin(x)

Our integral is now:

Integral of (-1/((1-u^2)(5+4u^2))) du

etc
