luminescent fluids question

Hello /Sci/! I've got a question regarding Luminescent fluids/gels.

For a theather aplication I need to make a tube fixed to a wooden box glow. I'm trying to avoid cheesy things such as placing a high intensity light in or before the tube *doesn't give the right effect*. Glow Sticks aren't a prefered option either (Not reusable...)

So, what i see as my options are as follow:
1. Find a electroluminscent or electrochemical luminescant fluid with a reaction that can be reversed or activates by running a current through it (If activate by current: Reverts to original state after current is turned off)
2. GO for sonoluminesence ("pure" water and Helium/Argon available from university, where to get an ultrasonic horn though?)
3. Disolve or gel phosphor powder and electrify it? (Phosphor powder sheets = green stuff in watches etc.)
4. Dissolve/gel a panelescent nightlight? (I've got serious doubts with this one)

Are any of these options viable? Or am I stuck to using the Glow Sticks? It's going to be a novelty item and i've got enough time on my hands, so the easy way out *glowsticks* really isn't preferd!

Thanks in advance!

I haven't actualy *never heard of it before ^^*

This seems like a viable back-up for certain less accesible bits of the glass&wood box construction, but it does take away a bit of the Fluid effect *I can submerge them in fluid though, might require some work to apply a water proof layer, seems these things are water resistant, but not water proof*, thanks anon!

So.. Anyone think option 3, disolving/gelling phosphor powder might work?

Don't change these.
