synthetic THC

Hey sci,
 I'm curious about THC and whether (if so How) it can be produced synthetically. I have limited knowledge on the subject and don't believe that anything like this was covered in high school.
Wikipedia says chemical formula is C21 H30 O2. I doubt that just putting these elements together in the amounts
described would yield what i want. So how would you recreate the molecular structure chemically? Any other questions I ought to be asking to get the best understanding possible?
inb4 just grow the damn plant.

better yet could someone (who happens to be gifted in the subject of chemistry) translate this patent into laymans terms?
