Physics question for an exam tomorrow

With a length of 34.8 m and a width of 2.65 m, the supertram is one of the largest articulated cars ever built for public transport. An empty supertram has a mass of about 50 000 kg. It can carry 88 people sitting down and an extra 162 passengers standing. The supertram has a top speed of 80 km / h. The momentum change when the supertram pulls away from a stop and reaches top speed is enormous.

What is the velocity of the Supertram in m/s when travelling at top speed?

I can't get my head around this......

Am I supposed to convert 80km/h to m/s then multiply 50,000 by 22.22?

Actually, fuck that, how do I calculate the momentum of it?

lol propper waffle question! it should say

convert 80km/h in to m/s

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-24 20:25

>>10
km/h = 1000m/3600s
3.6km/h = 1m/s

80/3.6 = 22.2

Don't change these.
