Should Atheism be taught as a school subject?

in my school we had to choose between catholic, protestant, islamic and atheist class

In my school we had "conversion classes" where all the kids of one religion (or atheism) had to try really hard to convert at least one other person in the class to their side. You could only get an A if your religion was a majority at the end of the year.

In my school our maths teacher was atheist, and would regularly mark every question by a pupil wrong if he knew they were religious, because "they obviously cannot not understand deductive logic." When he found out his star student was a Mormon he didn't shit for a week.

This is why a BSc. in Math should be requisite for any public school teacher.

It isn't?  I thought that "no child left behind" thing increased the stakes to an MS degree?

anyone who goes to the trouble of getting an MS is overdoing it to teach children.

I don't think it should be taught as it's own subject. However, it should be discussed in any class that deals with religion/religions, and in any philosophy class.

Atheism, especially Anti-theism, is simply the result of applied rational thought. Critical thinking is already being taught to students in public schools.

Right now we have two problems, though. First, the teachers and curricula aren't getting through to a lot of kids, which means our teaching strategies aren't working. They probably aren't strict/blunt enough to be effective. I'm not a teacher, nor am I a child psychologist, but the fact that something is wrong is fairly obvious, IMO.

Second, we aren't flunking enough of the kids that just don't get it. I don't care if they get separated from their friends, they'll make new ones. That's what kids do and that's one of the points of public school: to teach social skills. What's more important is a good education. If that means your kid gets held back three times before getting to the 4th grade, so be it. Too many kids are getting a shitty early education and just do not have a firm grasp on any sort of rational thought processes. Take a look at... any fucking internet forum... as proof.

Anyway, Atheism is simply a lack of belief in a deity. It isn't learned because by definition, everyone is born an atheist. Only later are people indoctrinated into a cult. And by that I mean "defenseless children are taken advantage of by their parents and brainwashed." They are quite seriously and literally "mentally raped" and permanent damage is done to their cognitive abilities.

Had they actually held me back when I was younger, it would've been an incredible waste of resources. My issue with public school was not the content, I was always very bored by it. My issue with public school is the homework. I felt that I would learn on school time, and I did, but my time was mine.

As a result of the effort-driven grades, I often failed courses.
Holding me back would have not changed a damn thing and I would've been perpetually in school, an enormous drain on taxpayer money considering that I was perfectly adept at actual learning.

The problems with the school system can not be so simply diagnosed. There is a large number of problems with it and it will never, ever work for every person. It boils down to philosophical questions, such as:

Does a dumb kid that tries really hard to understand the material deserve to fail at school (and in essence, life)?

Does the really intelligent kid that aces all the tests deserve to fail because she or he does not need the homework to understand the material?

Does the kid that's rebelling against the system in a self-destructive way deserve to not live a normal life because of predictable teenage behavior?

Why did you spend so much time to write a troll that no one will read?
Oh... I forgot. You can't really do anything important during your refractory period...

Don't change these.
