Cooking - Science or Religion?

Name: Anonymous 2008-06-28 18:40

Cooking has adopted the scientific mode. However, from a strictly scientific point of view, it has not been able to meet the requirements of true science.

I mean, guize, "add salt to your taste"? What kind of recipes are that? Are they repeatable with same results everywhere?

1. It has never adopted the scientific mode to begin with

2. They would be more repeatable if we could decode the complexity of the brain completely.

But we won't say how much salt is the standard and what is aside isn't normal and should be fixed with all means.

This reminds me of Isaac Newton.  He would figure out laws of motion one day, and cook up some witches brew in his alchemist's robe the next.
