The Universe is expanding right now, which is easily proveable.  Don't listen to 2, he doesn't know WTF he's talking about, and 3 is a retard/troll (same thing).  I think you really mean whether the Universe will eventually end in a Big Crunch/Big Bounce (Universe eventually reverses it's expansion and collapses into a sort of reverse Big Bang, possibly then rebounding into a new Universe) or a Big Freeze/Heat Death (Universe continues to expand until the only things left in the entire Universe are photons that are below the visible spectrum).  Of course, there are many other hypotheses, but most of them involve certain unscientific bullshit *cough*strings*cough*.

Universal increased distances over time.  You CAN compare the universe to itself due to changes in state, and those changes are most likely delimited in units of time.

I admit I am completely ignorant as far as this subject goes, but I believe the idea is that while the universise is infinite, there is infinite void but the amount of matter is a more tangible number.  So within the universe, you could construct a ball of finite radius which contains all matter.  If you were to optimize this ball to minimize radius while still containing all matter, the ball itself will be expanding while the universe containing it is still infinite.

It's more like a shape that goes in all directions due to those arrows that mean never ending, only the shape has no edge or perimeter

Your matter ball (or let's say, matter/energy ball) would remain constant in mass/energy if the prohibition against creating/destroying energy is adhered to.  Relative size is another matter.  The expansion of the space ball could be measured relative to the matter/energy ball, but what if instead the matter/energy ball was measured relative to the space ball?  In that case, the space ball is constant while the matter/energy ball is, while constant relative to itself, is shrinking relative to the space ball that surrounds it.
