triviality and simplicity.

You all need to differentiate between "trivial" and "simple".  PROTIP: there is indeed a difference.

The difference is trivial.

You mean "simple".

The former is what one finds at the end of a typical Wikipedia article, while the latter is the content of said article.

Clearly, this is obvious.

The second the word "Clearly" pops up in a paper, my "OH SHIT HERE COMES THE PART THEY DIDN'T WORK OUT COMPLETELY"-o-meter pegs its needle.

I remember my high school chemistry book, when it was going over Lewis diagrams. It gave some examples, and then it did CN-. First it did it with a single bond, said that it didn't fill the octet, and then it put the triple bond and the brackets with the -.

Then it told me to "satisfy myself" that both atoms had a full octet.

I was insulted and saddened.

The universe is clearly designed.

Clearly, the universe is so simple it borders on being trivial...

Don't change these.
