I don't buy it. I mean that would be like 40% of the Jewish population and the Jews produce many extremely succesful/notable people so why can't I name a famous Jew that died in gas chambers? Anne Frank doesn't count because she was famous only because of her writings about the Holocaust (and she died of Syphilis anyway). Not denying the Holocaust here, just the numbers.

Wikipedia would love to have an article dealing with this subject.  Please provide scholarly sources and remember to maintain a neutral point of view.
