 2a = a + x
-2x  -2x

2(a - x) = a - x
 /a-x     /a-x

2 = 1

This is plausible math, right? Right?!

Oh this is one of those thingies to give to students.  If a = x, then a - x = 0.  In which case you are not permitted to do the step of dividing by a - x.
