You can't just ignore factual results just because they don't fit in your hypothesis. That's bad science.

Ah yes but the measurement device (the poll) as given was insensitive to the results such as -1 and 4. Any measurement device usage has associated limitations. As long as inherent limitations of the measurement device are recognized and reported, science may procede regardless of how good or bad it is. Also there is no hypothesis being tested, merely a descriptive statistic being collected.

You know how people always say, "I'd give my left nut for..." whatever? Well fuck, I already gave my right nut and got jack shit. I would have loved to have given my right nut for something great.
