Bounded variables

Can someone tell me why the variables are bounded in these instances?

1. i in Σi=a n f(i)
2. x in ∫ab f(x) dx

Because they are local to the summation and integration.

Could you explain how they are within a "for all" or "there exists" statement? Bounded variables are bounded only if they are within such things. I do not see any "for all" or "there exists."

lolwut

1. i is bounded below by a, and above by n
2. x is bounded below by a, and above by b.

No, no, tell me why i and x are not free variables.
