The thought of sexual activity with the same sex can bring a feeling of disgust and dislike as one considers another to have something incompatible on a sensory or nervous level (eww, gay). Is there a name for this reaction, like an automatic skin or muscle reaction? Are there any studies on its exact mechanisms?

it's called sexual orientation, heard of it? It's the same reaction you get when you see an ugly example of the gender you're attracted to.

But it magically doesn't happen when confronted with non-gay males. It has nothing to do with orientation and everything with ingrained bigotry.
So you're suggesting not being gay is merely the cause of social factors and that anyone could get it on with another of the same sex?

Gee, there's no drive to mating with the same gender. Who would have thought?

I don't think you understood what the op meant.
Not just "I'm not attracted to the same sex," but infantile reactions to the thought, as he suggested. The "EEW THAT'S GAAAAAAAY" sort of shit.

I'm certainly not a bigot, and I don't think I've been indoctrinated to hate gay people.
That being said, the thought of performing oral sex on another man is not exactly pleasant. It's not some immature "yuck dude! that's gay!" reaction. It's like >>4 said, my reaction upon seeing two men having sex is similar to my reaction if I were to see a 600 lb woman naked.

So biologically, where does this sense of unattractiveness come from? Is it a gene? A bunch of neurons?
It all comes down to your feeling of guilt because you touch yourself at night. While thinking of your mother. Only, you imagine her being a man. A huge, black man in leather garments.
