Okay, anon, this is actually a...LEGITIMATE QUESTION, HOLY SHIT

Under what conditions can an infinite matrix be said to represent an operator on a Hilbert space? Anyone have any sources for it/can anyone provide me ANYTHING on infinite matrices? Google hasn't been much help. Thanks!
